English blog

Personally I enjoyed writing the blog. Although it took me long enough and I got all the time in "wordreference." I think blogging is a good tool to practice. The general topics were interesting to us so it was easy have ideas of what to write. If I always complicated how to take the blog, as I do not call much attention to blogs never learned to use it well, so I never even put my profile picture: S If I get well the photos. What I liked was posting on other blogs because I always need more time, so all the time I do very quickly, writing a few words only.

I wish I had more time to devote to it, but we are always running after English I had to gather for workshop with my colleagues, because we were always evaluation the Thursday.

What was difficult was I always achieve the required word count me in Spanish is easy to write the blog, but achieve fluency in English is hard for me, so my blog was always writing something strange.

Still think I learned a lot, wondering when the semester started I now can communicate more. It always gives me a little shame, because my pronunciation not good, at least now I dare to speak.
One thing I think would be good, is English was twice a week, because in truth with a single class can spend very little time.

the Sea Wolf

This picture is not my favorite but still I think in very fun. A friend and classmate took it in April when we went to Talcahuano for a task. We go tree classmates, Rommie, Cristian and I. We went to the Cero zone of Talcahuano that was the coast. The place was close to the people but we went to the town council to ask how we can come in. The council person was very nice and gives as a pass, because the area was watched for soldiers. So we went to the coast and saw so much destruction and all was empty. We walked for the seaside and saw the fisherman’s area. In that place the sea wolfs wait for fish… but this wolfs… I don´t know how, they come up!!!! It´s very elevated, like five meters. And they are really big. So we put to thing how that kind of animals could come up… but we had no answer…so we think “take us a picture with the wolf!!!” We don´t knew the awful character of this animals… like a big and fat dog… we try to pose next to him but wolf sneezed all the time and his sneeze was very powerful. Was very disagreeable because has many slobber… gross… we try and try and we made!!!! And for that a think is very good picture, because was very difficult made it and still we look very happy!!! Was very fun and the sea wolf look so calm…

My Jesualdo

I studied in a little primary school, a private one, the name was Jesualdo. This school has a proposal of education very different to the rest. Teacher ´s matrimony founded the school and calls a lot of young teachers to do this project. The courses were very small, like eight or fifth teen kids, so each student has a lot attention of the teacher. The next important thing we have many hours to do different class. So arts were equal or more important if we compare with mathematics. Also my head teacher was a Bachelor of Arts, so all the class: Mathematics, languages, history, sciences…etc. Has a didactic method to teach, always she took as to the park to learn about the different subjects. We went to theater, museum all the time. In my first years of school I participated in a chorus, I learn how cook, also contemporary dance and many things more… Finally my thing was drawn and paint, I was happy with that and I had a situation propitious to that. My parents always bought me paints and papers to cut or things like that. I enjoy very much the primary because they let my choose what I want, so constantly I could express myself. That School not exist anymore, because they don´t do it so much money, was it private but with a very low price, because they don’t want to be millionaire, so bankrupt. Was a very beautiful experience and I like the public school would have teachers like I had.

My favorite things.....

I think my favorite piece of technology is my cell phone, I have one since seven years. I lose it many, but always my parents buy other. So witch the time I started to love it. But I don´t consider myself a fan of technology, I use the cell phone to call and like alarm clock. Yet I used every day. So the last time I gone to buy one, I choose a very simple model, It hasn’t camera, either music or video camera, I just can call and I love it, because is simple and easy to use. I sound like an old person, but always lose my things so I don´t spend a lot of money in things like iPhone or Gphone…
My second favorite thing is my notebook; I buy it three years ago and make me so happy. The reason because I wanted it so much is for the university, I never finished my works in home so I needed it. How I don´t know so much about technology I just buy a very beautiful computer, It´s white whit silver lines… Also is a very good machine… I think… but I´m not a geek so I believe that because a workmate said to me…
I use it all the time and it never crash, soy I feel very lucky with my purchase… And still think it has very pretty.

MY CAREER....

I believe that in my career (architecture) they are necessary certain artistic and creative skills, but still there are other qualities that accompany these. To study architecture is necessary to be very responsible and working constant, because every week there is a new work to realize and we don’t have so much time.

I think these qualities brings a creative qualities in architecture but always think and meditate on how to make the project not to be an artist, but if being proactive and always be looking for new ideas.

On the other side, I think accountability is something that one develops with time. In the first year of University It’s hard to all used to the fast time and make it a priority workshop and no family or friends or the holidays. Generally, the persons who cannot prioritize the university go away in the first or second year.

As for the courses, I think there should be more courses of "computer graphics" and "bioclimatic arquitecture"

about the future ... I have this year and next ... I really do not feel so prepared to go to work, even though I've focused on the construction and structures, I feel there is still much to learn, yet I have really wanted to start now to work! ! When finished I will continue studying ...maybe do a Master in another country!!!

Siete Tazas, Molina

I gone to talk about my last vacations in “Siete tazas” (is in the seventh region, close to Molina). I went in February with my boyfriend. Initially we would go in a Bus, but in the last minute hi want go drivering. So, we travelled to Molina. In the road we stop to eat in “Juan y medio”, a restaurant of typical Chilean food. We eat a very big “cazuela”, because they cook giant plates. Then we take the road again and travelled like two hours more. When arrived to Molina, we take a track, but we were not so sure about the track, so we take 3 hours more to arrive :S
We stayed at camping 4 Km from the National Park “Siete tazas”. The next morning we go walking, the park is a beautiful place. It has waterfalls. We saw it and then we knew a few persons who do ecotourism. They offered us to do canyoning. It is to lower the water fall for a rope. I was very nervous but I accepted. So, the next day we went very early to “Velo de la Novia”, a water fall of 80 meters. It`s incredible. So we go down… the water was freezing, and was so high… when we were already down, we do trekking like 3 hours. The landscape was beautiful and we were only 4 persons, so there was no noise. I love this place, but was very sad went it was the earthquake, because “Siete tazas” it emptied. Now it is turning the water…

SHIGERU BAN

For this post I gone to choose a japanese. Shigeru Ban born in 1957. He’sa very interesting architect, because his Works has a point of view very different to the rest. He suggests an architecture kind with the world. So for the Kobe’s earthquake in 1995 he design emergency houses and a new church. His proposal was brilliant, because he choose a very unusual material like is the “PAPER”. He design paper tubes to structure the different buildings. The way how he treat the material was very simple but to the same time so beautiful. He put the tubes in a vertical position to generate a wall. The tubes are very strong and waterpoof, because the paper was treated to resist wieght and the inclemency climate.

The result was very successful. So the ONU sent the differents design of Ban to places has been affected others catastrophes, like Ruanda or Turkey.
Ban has continued designing to a sustainable way. In 2005 create the Nomadic Museum in New York. This time he choose containers to make the museum. The idea is generate a ephemeral building, so he put the containers one by top of the others. In the end the idea is make to disappear the museum. In this case he don´t generate garbage to construct , neither to dismantle the building.
